It's Never Too Late!!!

Ya I know it's been a while and I'm sorry about that. I mean I'm new at all this blogging stuff so I hope you will give me a little leeway;)

Ok so I know it's christmas eve and all but from what I've heard it's never to late to write a christmas list for the guy in the big red suit! I've decided to share my list with you guys along with Santa. I mean I'm sure he reads my blog an all. Plus these days no one uses snail mail! (except my dear friends Amy and Ginger who both sent me personal christmas cards via the mailman, Thanks girlies love y'all;)

Wish List Item #1:

These awesome boots from Joie!

Now the bad news is that these boots cost about $535 and if you are looking for the "affordable price" you can get them on Piperlime for about $369.99 which in my opinion is still a joke! I mean who wants to pay that for boots. $100 is one thing for a really really nice pair of boots but most of us "normal folk" don't even want to pay that. Which is why I have found 2 great alternatives :)

Alt.#One:

Steve Madden Perrin boots - $169.99

  • I know there still over $100 but it's gettin lower at least:)
  • The only difference I could really find is the red zipper tape. which I kinda love, the rustic red gives it a funky spin without being over the top.(and yes that part of the zipper is called zipper tape I looked it up)

Alt.#Two:

Dolce Vita for Target - $27.99
  • Dolce Vita is one of those high end designers that was kind enough to make a line just for Target!
  • This is a great shoe to buy if you are looking for a way to take part in this awesome military style boot fad and not wanting to spend too much :)

Wish List Item #2:

Hunter Green nail polish-

AAAAAhhhhh I'm completely obsessed with hunter green this season! Don't worry I'm going to be doing a whole blog on it. (I know you are excited on the inside:)

"British Racing Green" from butter LONDON-$14

  • Fantastic line that prides themselves on being healthy and chemical free (always a plus).
  • "3 Free is what we do and it means No Formaldehyde, No toluene, and No DBP (Phthales). Ever." -butter LONDON

Don't worry I have alternatives again:) I'm actually only gonna give you one though because all the other polish lines in the world can't beat this price:

Only Alt. Worth While:

Forever 21 Hunter Green polish - $2.80
  • CRAZY right!!! And I can totally vouch for it to staying on for like 5 days!!! I was in a Christmas play where I had to wear bright red nail polish for 7 shows straight and I bought some from Forever 21. No chips for a week! OPI can't even touch that!!!(yes this nail polish totally deserves me overusing exclamation marks)

Wish List Item #3:

The perfect military jacket!

Now I've spent that past half hour trying to find some great deals and "alternatives" to the best military jackets, however, I have some vital information I just can not with hold. At my very own work place we have some awesome military style jackets for anywhere from $29.99 to $49.99. Which means everyone and their grandma needs to come visit me at UAL off 190 in Covington to spend some of their christmas money on these great steals! (ya ya I know the sales lady inside of me just came out haha) But for serious I already own one myself!

I hope y'all have an amazing holiday and...

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Everyone Needs A Christmas Sweater!

Oh why it's the Christmas season and finally we are getting some cold weather here in south Louisiana! One of my favorite things ever is walking outside during this time of year and you can just smell christmas! You know what i'm talking about. It's when a brisk cold breeze blows by and you get a chill right down to your bones (because our cold is a lovely damp wet cold). Add the scent of burning wood and evergreens and you've got the smell of Christmas season!

Well the other day I got an invite to a christmas party! And not just any christmas party but an UGLY christmas sweater party Ha! I know what your thinking....awesome right! For the past couple of years I've seen tons of facebook pictures with people all over having these festive ugly sweater gatherings and I've always wanted to go to one. The whole idea is just so stinking hilarious to me. I was seriously contemplating having one of my own this christmas but an invite came along which is even better (now I don't have to plan anything;) - p.s. thanks Lala

"Why blog about ugly sweaters?" you might ask, well because this just goes to show that there are some things in your closet that you should never let go of! (even if someone else is telling you to BURN IT)
  • Tip 4: everyone should have at least one ugly christmas sweater in their possession.
I promis it will make you as happy as this guy....

hmm I just don't know if there is anything more attractive than a man in a turtleneck

And if anyone is wanting to jump on the bandwagon of having one of these seasonal parties (which you should!) there is even an entire website dedicated to this new found tradition! UglyChristmasSweaterParty.com even gives you great gift, game, and snack ideas for your holiday shenanigans. I can't wait to go to my neighborhood goodwill and find a treasure of a sweater!

Here are some other great examples of holiday must haves:

Don't be scared to go 3 dimensional either!

It's also very popular to pair a holiday sweater vest with a festive turtleneck. As we all know layering is very in this season!

Don't worry about mixing prints it's all the rage!

All in all the tackier the better! I hope you guys have fun finding those sweaters Merry Christmas!!!

    Lauren Conrad

    Post 2 here we go:

Well ladies, gentleman, and others I have to make a confession: I am slightly obsessed with Lauren Conrad. Yes, thats right she's the one that started it all on Laguna Beach. And yes, I have seen every episode of Laguna Beach and The Hills. Considering this is the internet I feel like its perfectly alright to admit to silly things such as these due to the fact that I can just hide behind my keyboard and computer screen when I write them haha. She has her line out at Kohl's and it is Fan-freakin-tastic! I pretty much loved everything. Well we'll say almost everything ;) Especially her sweaters/cardigans! Man it felt like everything I tried on just fit my body type. You know in the beginning of "Confessions of a shopoholic" when she's explaining how clothes make her feel well thats kinda how LC's new line made me feel....pretty much amazing. I mean I'm like 5 feet and a little bit on the healthy side (not an easy body type to fit). But her clothes just made me forget about those leftover 5 pounds from that dang freshman 15 I gained like 4 years ago!

Tip 3 (I think I'm on tip 3): If you find a piece of clothing that makes you feel like this GET IT! When you find a line that works stick with it. Hopefully they wont let you down in the future.

Who can have a face like this coming down the runway after her show and not deserve their own line!

Needless to say I probably bought way to many things that eventful day at kohl's:) However I love each piece I got!

Hmm where to start where to start? I guess I should warn you that if you are a grammar fanatic then be prepared to find one too many misplaced punctuation marks along with every other rule in the book broken. I'm just here to sit back and talk about some clothes regardless if people actually read this stuff or not haha!

I work in this great place called UAL that sells liquidated high end designer clothes. You could look at it more like a highly glorified TJ Maxx. We get all sorts of amazing things in that place! It's that store that I have to give props to for turning me onto fashion in the first place. I always loved it but it wasn't till I started working there that I ever thought I could pull any of it off.

    • Tip 1: Confidence works wonders on a gals closet;)
I literally feel like everyday is getting to play dress up and I can look like whoever and whatever I want. (Don't worry I know how cheesy and cliché this sounds already, however, it doesn't change my opinion. Sometimes you gotta just embrace the cheese!)
    • Tip 2: Dress for YOU! If you want to dress to impress then impress yourself. (You gotta like what you see when you look in the mirror)
Ok so I already don't like how this is turning into advice instead of me just sharing what I like thats new in fashion haha. Tomorrow we'll start fresh and see what happens!
